What to deposit?

1. Full text peer-reviewed manuscript (mandatory):

Deposit the post-print version of your article, ie the final peer-reviewed manuscript accepted for publication or final draft post-refereeing (usually a Word or LaTeX file) = same as the published version, but the post-print does not include the layout and formatting of the final version.

If your article was published open access: deposit the PDF published version in HAL.

The H2020 policy only applies to peer-reviewed journal manuscripts. However, "beneficiaries are strongly encouraged to deposit other types of scientific publications", either peer-reviewed or not, such as monographs, books, conference proceedings, reports and grey literature. (Guidelines on OA to scientific publications in H2020, p.6).

2. Project metadata (mandatory):

Make sure to fill out the EC project fields in the HAL online deposit form:

In the European Project field: state the EU project name, acronym or number (select the item from the drop-down list).

In the Contract / Financing field: copy and paste the following statement:

“This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No [Number]”.

Where should I deposit?

You may deposit your publication either in the HAL open access repository (Hyper Articles OnLine) or in one of the HAL institutional / subject repositories: HAL-Rennes 1, HAL-Inserm, HAL-SHS, HAL-Inria, HAL-Insu etc.

After uploading the file, you may have the option to transfer a copy of your manuscript to ArXiv, PubMed Central or RePeC, provided the publisher allows it. Please make sure to fill out the Subject field.

When should I deposit?

As soon as the paper is accepted for publication and at the latest upon publication.
